Builder of the "Dug" bike, the ultimate off-road two-wheel-drive and three-wheel-drive motorcycle, hand built with pride.

                                    Welcome!

Hello!   My name is Doug McAtee. Thank you for visiting my website for DUG Motor Co. Here is a very brief story of my first 40 years.

For me at a young age it became apparent that I had a thirst for any off-road machine with an engine attached. Be it mini bike, dirt bike, snowmobile, 3- and 4-wheeler ATV's, skidders, dozers, 4x4 trucks, etc., etc.
All through my school years and up to now I have owned, ridden, raced, or explored with all the above machines. After high school I got married to my high school sweetheart and started having bambino's. I worked for a couple of contractors doing excavation and concrete work. All the while I had a small engine shop selling and servicing ATV's, snowmobiles, and chainsaws out of my house garage. I also rented out a small skid steer to homeowners, which would eventually lead me into the excavation and developing business that I have been in for the last 14 years.
In the last few years I have been following through with a plan to build my own model of snowmobile that is more of a tractor type machine for the snow -- similar to a "Husky" or Bolens "Diablo" that were built in 60's and early 70's. While reasearching information about these machines on the Internet, I came across a two-wheel-drive motorcycle/tractor called a Rokon. That was it, right there!! I needed to build one of these to my liking before starting the snowmobile project. I ended up finding a website called "Rokonworld" and making friends from all over the world with the same fascination as I have with the two-wheel-drive motorcycle.
Since then I have acquired a Rokon, Trail Partners and Tote Gotes to get various ideas for my 2x2 bike build.

Thanks to my friends and all the fellow Rokonites, with their help from welding, machining, art work, ideas, and knowledge, the DUG bike was born. A prototype has been built and tested and I am very happy with it. Parts and frames are being produced in small quanities and I am now anxious to build and sell these bikes.
I plan to continually improve the bike with better ideas or parts as it becomes apparent they are needed. I also am going to make a three-wheel-drive attachment that is a third tire bolt-on kit. I am passionate about these bikes and hope to sell them to people around the world who are as passionate about this type of vehicle as I am.
